You Down With F.O.E.?

The Serengeti-style oasis of skin and swim The Fraternal Order of Eagles has a magnetic quality to it — one that lures you in with the smell of tanning oil and charcoal. As if the usual reasons for going aren’t enough — hot single dads, charitable donations, beach blanket bingo, water cannons, Jell-O shots, lodge member bartenders, barbecue, potential make-out sessions, dirt-cheap drinks and, I’m told, a pool — today there’s an added benefit to wiling away several hours at your favorite dive. The F.O.E. (8500 Arturo Drive) is throwing a bash called WET where an extra five bucks gets you access to Mr. Rid’s Scaraoke, DJ Woodtronic, John Walker (Staple, Rokit Lab), Sean Sparks & Boston Morgan (pubstep) and a video installation by VJ Phosphene in the music hall. It’s a 12-hour bash, running from 1 p.m. on Saturday until 1 a.m. Sunday morning, so you have plenty of time to flip flop between sunshine pool time and mandatory-shoes dance party. Don’t forget to bring a cover-up; the F.O.E. likes to keep it classy. Swimming is $8, and the dance hall money benefits disadvantaged children. You can bring your own food, but you gotta buy your booze there — and why wouldn’t you? Those bartenders are precious. Visit
