The “art” of Instagram has its admirers and its detractors. While some say it waters down the craft of photography, lowering the value of the medium as a whole, others would counter that availability creates a more photo-appreciative world. There’s a new show opening Friday that celebrates the filtered square in One By One, an all-Instagram art show. Happening at creative thinkspace WELD (2410 Farrington St.), the exhibition features a whole photoroll’s worth of locally active ’grammers, thanks to photo-collecting meet-up site instadfw.com. Go feel inspired to do more than your standard selfie-kissie-face-friend-tag set on Mayfair, and see what others are using to fill out their squares. The opening runs from 7 to 11 p.m. and it’s free to attend. Since there’ll be live music and an open bar, go ahead and drink until everything looks watermarked.
