Trying to get your arts fix is kinda like squeezing out paints on a palette. Your visual arts are the blue and your music is the red ... and dang, if they don’t turn into something completely awesome when they’re mixed. It’s such a shame to isolate them, no? ArtLoveMagic’s Underground 2013 doesn’t think they should languish in solitary either — so they host an annual mishmash that creates beautiful kaleidoscopes of creativity in a one-stop experience. More than 100 artists and musicians contribute visual, tactile and auditory experiences that sprawl throughout the Artist Quarters, Janette Kennedy Gallery and the Underground Room of the historic SouthSide on Lamar building (1409 S. Lamar St.). Interactive exhibitions set the backdrop as you browse paintings, immerse yourself in poetry performances or catch live music on one of many stages between 8 p.m. and midnight on Saturday. Tickets are $10 at underground5.eventbrite.com/.
