Whiskies of the World happens in numerous cities across the U.S., and Dallas’ will feature more than 250 whiskies for a celebration of everything around the beverage. Attendees to this event in the park can taste the barbecue from the likes of Kreuz Market from Lockhart, Schmidt Family Barbecue from Lake Travis and some local spots such as Cafe Momentum. Those exploring the BBQ Pitmaster Classes can learn all about barbecue from pitmasters Wayne Mueller of Louie Mueller Barbecue (Taylor, Texas) and Matt Pittman of Meat Church (Waxahachie). You’ll also hear from live bands the whole day to complete the food festival atmosphere. If that’s not your thing, there’s also the Trailer Park Olympics, where you can see armadillo races, a mechanical bull, chicken shit bingo and … a butt sketch caricature artist. Again, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Tickets: General admission is $50 in advance and gets you in at 2 p.m. with complimentary tastings. GA children’s passes, ages 6-12 are $10 (younger children are free). VIP passes are $96 in advance and will get you in at 1 p.m. with an extra hour and two complimentary drink coupons.

Dallas VegFest is a festival centered around nutrition and wellness — and meat-free eats. You’ll find speakers on nutrition, the environment and health, as well as cooking demos and vegetarian and vegan vendors. Admission is free.

Oak Cliff favorite Bolsa is celebrating its 10-year anniversary by bringing back previous chefs and bartenders from the past decade. In the kitchen, you’ll find Graham Dodds, Jeffrey Harris, Andrew Bell, Eric Wolf and Joel Harrington. Behind the bar, Eddie “Lucky” Campbell, Jason Kosmos, “Dub” Davis, Kyle Hilla, Joni Long and Spencer Shelton will be pouring cocktails. They’ll open at 6 p.m. and keep serving until “the booze runs out.”
