Taylor Young has played in a lot of bands for the past two decades. From Neon Girl to Hi-Fi Drowning to 25% Toby, he's best known for his work with the folky stomp of the O's. As fellow O John Pedigo works on his Pedigo's Magic Pilsner, Young is about to release his first solo single, "Shine On Me."

In an exclusive with the Dallas Observer, you can hear the song (and see its accompanying video directed by Chad Windham) only here until it debuts on streaming services. His forthcoming solo album will be out next spring.

Helping Young is a well-known member of the bands Deep Blue Something and Calhoun.

"Toby Pipes is my producer and my bandmate and friend of over 20 years," Young says. "The two of us played everything on the record. Kinda country, kinda spacey, kinda pop."

With everything Young has done so far, the vibe of "Shine On Me" makes sense.

"This is kinda like my forever project, always wanted to do exactly this," Young says.
