Ever wanted to learn how to compost in the city? Head to AJ Vagabonds in Bishop Arts on Thursday night for a free workshop from Dallas' Turn Compost. You'll learn how to compost at home or your apartment and will get an overview of soil biology and compost techniques. The class will be held outside at AJ Vagabonds' sweet outdoor classroom. After the class, head to AJ Vagabonds' sister business, the recently opened Revelers Hall, to check out Bishop Arts' shiny new New Orleans-style jazz bar.

This weekend, Sandwich Hag owner Reyna Duong — a fervent advocate of more employment opportunities for people with Down syndrome — is hosting a two-for-one event this weekend: a combination Lunar New Year and World Down Syndrome Day festival. For a $10 cash admission (Folks with Down syndrome and kids 12 and under will get in free), you'll get access to a ton of food vendors, including Haute Sweets Patisserie, ULAM Modern Filipino Kitchen, Momo Shack Himalayan Dumplings, SneakerBaby Macarons and Ka-Tip Thai Street Food. There will be a DJ, interactive lion dancers, free face painting and various art and craft vendors.
