Just because we can't remember just what the hell our country is doing in Afghanistan now that 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden has been sent to hell, or just why we're still in Iraq after toppling first Saddam Hussein's statue and then the dictator himself, doesn't mean we should forget about the soldiers who have given their lives to protect our ... our ... whatever it is over there that they're protecting. The 9-11 Heroes Run benefits the Travis Manion Foundation, which provides fellowships for wounded veterans, scholarships and seminars on coping with grief. The 5K run is 8 a.m. Sunday on the Katy Trail at Reverchon Park, 3505 Maple Ave. Registration ($25) is at 911heroesrun.com.
