In the mood to see average Joes like yourself (beer belly and all) strike out the 2011 NBA Finals MVP? Local good guy Dirk Nowitzki and the Heroes Foundation are granting you the opportunity by hosting Dirk Nowitzki’s 2012 Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game. This star-studded game will feature local demigods Jason Terry, Mark Cuban, Brian “The Janitor” Cardinal, Daryl Johnson, Donnie Nelson, Delonte West and FC Dallas players Brek Shea and Ugo Ihemelu. Proceeds from the game will benefit the Heroes Foundation and the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation. So bring the wife and kids because there’s nothing more amusing than seeing professional basketball and soccer players fail miserably at a sport so distant from their own. Remember Dirk’s pitch during the 2011 World Series? Dirk and company will duke it out at 6 p.m. Saturday at Dr Pepper Baseball Park, 7300 Roughriders Trail in Frisco. Tickets cost $7 to $16.
