No one knows how to throw a party like people who know how to throw parties. We’re talking about professional party planners, people whose job it is to make sure you’re having fun. Wedding planners, photographers, concierges, DJs, florists — there’s a surprising diversity when it comes to event planning. More than 10 thousand people in the party planning industry in Dallas have been invited to Partyfest, the 26th annual showcase for the biz. There are workshops on things like the latest flavor trends, hosted by chefs Kent Rathburn, John Tesar and Tre Wilcox, or on the newest developments in pyrotechnics. Like the mythical Echidna, mother of all monsters, this is the party that will spawn all other parties throughout the year. The show starts at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dallas Market Hall, 2200 North Stemmons Freeway, and tickets are $10 at the door. For more information, visit applauseproductions.com.
