Admit it, you’ve caught yourself salivating over a picture of a juicy burger in the pages of Bon Appetite. If it seems as though no matter how many filters you apply your Instagram photos can’t quite match the pages of a menu, you’re right. There’s a magic to food photography. At 6 p.m. Thursday, the Amon Carter Museum hosts a conversation called Designing Food featuring an Austin-based food stylist and photographer who will share the techniques they use to make a mouthwatering image. This obsession with food imagery predates cellphones and magazines. The museum’s new exhibit, Art & Appetite, covers centuries of food imagery in fine art. Admission to the Amon Carter Museum, 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth, is free and it’s open daily.
