I thought the creepy neighbor from American Beauty had the corner on finding beauty in the mundane. I mean, that plastic bag “dancing in the wind” changed the way I saw litter forever. But he has nothing on Fort Worth artist Brian Moore. The title of Moore’s 20-piece photography exhibition, FOCUS: FORM — COLOR — SHADOW, says it all. If you ever wondered what it would look like if Georgia O’Keefe made origami, this is the show for you. Moore took paper, fabric and sheets of foam and hand-sculpted them in order to highlight the folds, lines and curves of each form. Then, he photographed them. The vivid colors of the forms are brought to life against a stark, black background. The exhibition’s opening reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and the works remain on display through August 2 at William Campbell Contemporary Art (4935 Byers Ave. Fort Worth). For more information, visit williamcampbellcontemporaryart.com.
Saturdays, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: June 14. Continues through Aug. 2, 2014
