Each week (or thereabout) we ask a local chef three burning questions about their favorite culinary reads, food shames and best (or worst) meals. Today we chat with the proprietress of Sissy's Southern Kitchen and Bar, Lisa Garza, who has small library of cookbooks, but swears off some foods.

What are three of your favorite cookbooks? I have hundreds of books in my collection. I go through phases where I will immerse myself in certain books for a season. My current favorites include my vintage edition of James Beard's American Cookery, The Encyclopedia of Cajun & Creole Cuisine by John D. Folse and The Way To Cook by Julia Child.

What are a few of your latest food shames? I haven't had any food shames lately. I'm a pretty healthy eater. No sodas, no fast food. When I do overindulge, my shame food is definitely fried chicken from Sissy's. I have to keep myself from eating it too often.

What's the greatest thing you've eaten recently? The best thing I've eaten recently was the Chinese New Year menu at Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck. The Maine lobster and crispy whole quail were to die for!
