The armadillo is the new groundhog? What the what? According to J. Black's Feel Good Lounge it is.
The new Henderson Avenue hot spot will be celebrating Armadillo Day this Saturday, August 21. The event is inspired by Groundhog's Day, and will celebrating the coming of fall or everlasting summer heat.
Drink specials will feature Makers Mark and Texas beers alongside a special menu with items such as the Armadillo Egg, a fresh jalapeno stuffed with andouille sausage, onions, and asadero cheese wrapped in applewood-smoked bacon; Australian lamb chop lollipops; and Texas Kobe beef sliders.
Speedbump the Armadillo will make a special appearance for the festivities. We're not sure if it's a real armadillo or a guy in costume. If it's the latter, then man, we feel sorry for him.

Also, it's a big week in the Dallas restaurant world. Are we going to tell you what it is? Nope, not until you sign up for Hot Off the Grill, because all the details are in there. And you should probably register for it right now considering the newsletter is going out tomorrow morning.
