This Wednesday, December 5, the Sigel's at 5757 Greenville Avenue will raise a toast small craft-distilleries in a special tasting event with more than 60 different spirits to sample.

All of the micro-distilleries participating make unique, small batches of spirits. Per Jasper Russo at Sigel's, what makes these kinds of craft distilleries interesting is the process, "Where they're made, what unexpected ingredients are used, how small and special each and every batch is."

Special guests at the event include the founders of Fort Worth-based Firestone and Robertson Distillery, with their premium blended whiskey, TX.

Dan Garrison, founder of Garrison Brother's Distillery, will be pedaling his straight bourbon whiskey that he produces in small batches in Hye, Texas.

Balcones Distilling out of Waco will be sampling a True Blue, Baby Blue, Brimstone and Rumble whiskey. You can read more about distiller Chip Tate here. The eccentric Rogue Ales out of Newport, Oregon and White Hat Rum out of Austin will also be there.

The only problem with this tasting is that it's only two hours. It needs to be two days. Alas, we suffer...

To attend, you need to reserve a passport, which allows you to sample 12 spirits of your choice (of the 60 being sampled).

There's really no other event like this in the metroplex. Embrace that opportunity to learn about these different spirits, try them before committing and pick up a unique holiday gift (for yourself). Or something nice to share with Santa. How much milk can one man drink in one night? Do it for Santa.

The tasting is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. this Wednesdsay at the Sigel's at 5757 Greenville. To reserve a spot, RSVP online, email store01@sigels.com or call 214) 739-4012.
