Richard and Tiffanee Ellman (the people behind Oak) and John Paul Valverde (one of the people behind Campo) started teasing a few weeks ago that they have made a move on the old Lumi space on McKinney Avenue. This morning they announced the name and some details about the concept. Bowery will be a fresh perspective on fast-casual dining and should open next week. Their website offers little more than a logo, but the news release has some details about Uptown's newest concept, which centers on hot dogs. That's right: franks. Bowery takes the quintessential American favorite, dignifies the ingredients, modernizes the presentation and brings forth innovative and exciting renditions of the hot dog, according to the news release. Hot dogs just got haute.

Chicago dogs, "Korn" Dogs, something called the Dutchman and a Royal Wagyu hot dog will grace the menu rounded out with beer and cocktail pairings served in a space designed by Coeval: Valverde's design group, which is also responsible for Campo and Hacienda San Miguel.

This is the second hot-dog-centric concept to land on McKinney. Earlier this year The Stand opened up with a fast casual take on ballpark food. They'll be open 11 a.m. -11 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
