Welcome to the longest weekend of your life. Between the parade, block party, concerts (stoked for Ryan Bingham by the way) English breakfasts, cabbage dinners, green beers, Irish pubs, whiskey shots, sunshine, crowds, food truck parties and other happenings, there's a good chance some of us will never recover from so much fun. Can't fight it, though. Might as well embrace it. Just be sure to stock that fridge with some Gatorade before you head out tonight.
This week I reviewed 303 Bar and Grill. I didn't like it. But I do like Oak Cliff and think that it's Dallas' most interesting restaurant neighborhood right now. I wonder what the bar at Oddfellows is like on St. Patrick's Day?
Hoochie's is open for business. The new Denton oyster bar has a terrible name, but it has oysters and its patio is made of magic. What more do you need? How about a terrible taco?
Entree Dallas has a really good post about the new West Village hot spot, Union Bear. The dialogue heavy interview with owner Matt Spillers makes for a compelling blog post. And that Cuban sandwich photo makes me hungry.
On Side Dish, Nancy went on vacation and came back with some pretty photos about some chocolate and a sail boat.
I knew tacos tasted good, but I didn't realize they could bring the world together. I haven't seen much from the Tacobots lately, but the Taco Trail has gone social. After one successful taco walk Jose's started up a second, and it's already booked. Maybe that guy needs a taco bus?
That's really all that grabs me this week, which seems a little slow food news-wise. Perhaps we're gearing up for a busy Monday? Watch out for green beer this weekend, and we'll see you next week.
