I'd give anything to sit in on one of these marketing meetings. First, Yum Brands Inc., owner of Taco Bell, announced the original Doritos Loco Taco. The finger-staining-orange powder-coated taco sold millions so plans for a Cool Ranch version were announced next.
Now Frito-Lay, which owns the Doritos brand, has announced plans to see if the marketing ploy works both ways. Later this spring, they're planning on offering Doritos flavored like bad tacos that taste like Doritos.
According to the AP, the Taco Bell-branded Doritos will be a combination of nacho cheese flavor and taco flavor. I'm left to wonder if taco flavor tastes like meat, masa or some combination of the two.

And yes, just so we can get it all out there with one blog post, there's a Cool Ranch version of the Doritos Locos Tacos flavored Doritos in the works too. Seriously.
