Rose's Pawn Shop is an alt-country outfit hailing out of Los Angeles that boasts a couple of quality Americana albums, including the recently released Dancing on the Gallows. But there's a local tie, too: Local singer/songwriter, and former Dallas Observer Music Award winner Kristy Kruger has toured with Rose's Pawn Shop and thinks so highly of the quintet that she used them as the backing band on her soon-to-be released new album.
Kruger is currently touring (including doing some dates with Sarah Jaffe) or else I'm sure she'd be in attendance this evening as Rose's Pawn Shop makes a stop at La Grange. But, even without Kruger, there's plenty of reason to attend this show. Folks who dig authentic roots music could do much worse.
To entice you to do just that, the band has sent along the title track of the new album as a bonus MP3 for DC-9 readers. Check out "Dancing on the Gallows" after the jump.
