A few weeks ago, our ears perked up when we first heard that former Lift To Experience frontman Josh T. Pearson is planning to release his long awaited solo debut Last Of The Country Gentlemen on Mute Records in March of 2011.

Sure, it's been years since Pearson lived in town -- or anywhere permanently, really. He's been going back and forth between Berlin and Paris for some time now.

But the change of scenery seems to have had a strange influence on the ex-pat. When he lived in Texas, his band Lift To Experience had a strong British shoegaze influence. Now that he's living in Europe, judging by what little we've heard, his new songs are reminiscent of Hank Williams at his slowest and saddest. Hit the jump to check out Pearson's newest video, in which he performs a song suitably called "Country Dumb" from his forthcoming record for the folks at The Quietus.
