I was lucky enough to spend some QT with Dallas hip-hop super-producers (not to mention two-time Grammy winners) Play-N-Skillz last week on the set of Tum Tum's new music video for his Salinas brothers-produced track "Smoke Something" off his excellent new Purp Kobain mixtape.

Tum Tum wanted me there, apparently, so we could recreate for film our interview from a few weeks back when I confronted him and asked him if he did, indeed, get high during his interviews--to which he responded that he was smoking a joint at that very moment. I was all-too-happy to oblige. Because, dammit, I like appearing in music videos.

Also, I wanted to see Play-N-Skillz's new Deep Ellum office space and studios. And I heard that Dorrough was gonna be there. But I digress.

While there, Juan "Play" Salinas let me in on a little scoop: In the coming weeks, MTV will be flying in to town to start filming a new reality show centered around Juan and his brother Oscar's efforts to help make Dallas a viable hip-hop center as well as their struggles as Latinos in the African-American-centric hip-hop world.

Yesterday, the duo's publicist sent out a press release confirming as much--and, also, while passing along word that the brothers are looking for a young Hispanic female looking for a gig in the music industry to join their team, both for on- and off-screen purposes. See the release in full after the jump.
