Another Denton-reppin' experimental band got some love from overseas. This time it's Florene, which caught the ear of No Pain In Pop, a London record label and music blog.

The duo's "Room 5" was yesterday's featured download track. NPIP's Tom King described the group's music as "soothing and balming, melting transphysic galactic jams."

On a side note, the post introduces the band with an uncredited quote that starts out "I would sum up my fear about the future in one word: boring," and ends with the line "The future is just going to be a vast, conforming suburb of the soul." Sounds like the kind of thing a forward-thinking musician might say, but according to my research, it was actually author J.G. Ballard who uttered those words back in 1982. --Jesse Hughey
