It's been more than 20 years since the Toadies dropped their signature record, Rubberneck. In fact, maybe you've heard about it. But what really makes the occasion seem significant is that the boys from Fort Worth are still going strong all these years later, gigging regularly around Texas and even headlining the Homegrown Festival in downtown Dallas earlier this year. At this point, the band is more than just an institution; they're a rite of passage for anyone who wants to claim the Lone Star State as their home.
That's where Dia De Los Toadies comes in. Every year for the past six year, the Toadies have held this celebration in their hometown. Yesterday they unveiled the full lineup for the seventh installment, set to take place on September 12 to 13 at Panther Island Pavilion.

Headlining both nights will of course be the Toadies, but there's a bit of a twist: Friday night's performances will be a little more low-key, with the Toadies breaking things down for an acoustic set. They'll be joined by the Old 97's Rhett Miller, who's front-man heartthrob moves should be out in spades with his own solo acoustic set.
Saturday night should be a little more lively and lot more rocking as the Toadies and Old 97's break out the full-band set-ups and get joined by a slew of other local and Texas-at-large acts, including the Quaker City Nighthawks, Somebody's Darling and a reunion Dallas' Pleasant Grove.
The shows will also be stocked with food trucks from Bellatrino, So-Cal Tacos, Holy Smokes, Lee's Grilled Cheese, Bombay Street Food and the Butcher's Son. There will even be ice cream from Gypsy Scoops.
Tickets run $35 per general-admission day pass or $65 for both days, while VIP single-day and weekend tickets are $70 and $130 respectively. You can buy passes and find out more about the show here.
