Dr. Dog has the innate ability to spin out quality record after quality record thanks to the band's duel songwriters Scott McMicken and Toby Leaman.
Along with a distinct Beatles influence, there's some Lennon/McCartney competition going on between the two singers--but it certainly doesn't hurt the band. It's helped them turn out six albums since 2001, and they've toured to world several times over.
This time, they'll be bringing their three-part harmonies to the Palladium Showroom on Thursday, November 11. Tickets are on sale for $18 at Frontgate.
As long as we're talking throwback bands: The soulful Sharon Jones And The Dap Kings will be at the Palladium Showroom on Thursday, September 23. Tickets are $25 at Frontgate.
On a more local note, Neon Indian will be at the Granada Theater on Tuesday, October 5. And, on Monday, November 8, Dallas' own John Dufilho will also be at the Granada, drumming for The Apples In Stereo. Tickets can be purchase on the Granada's website.
