Maybe you've seen some of the to-do surrounding Neon Indian? Perhaps on another Dallas-based blog? They've got a pretty cool sun-drenched sound--kinda like the audio equivalent of the visuals in Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" video, only not as nightmarish and much poppier than that description would imply.

Anyway, the "secretive" group's label, Lefse Records just sent out a press release confirming the details about the group--details that are really no surprise to anyone who's been paying attention. The project, in case you haven't yet guessed, is the work of Alan Palomo and his VEGA collaborators, along with Palomo's bud, video artist Alicia Scardetta, who lives in Brooklyn (which is where the rest of VEGA--Palomo, Jason Faries and Ron Gierhart--will be moving come fall).

The group will release Psychic Chasms, its debut (an 11 track full-length effort), on October 13, and make its live performance debut at the upcoming Monolith Festival in at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado (which I've been to and, for the record, it's effin' awesome). In the meantime, after the jump, an mp3 from the disc for stream and/or download, called "Terminally Chill."
