Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt tour stopped in Dallas on Friday. It already had a fairly significant North Texas tie -- Denton heroes Midlake are opening a string of shows for Pearl Jam, including this week's hometown stop.
But the local spotlight got even bigger during PJ's second encore, when Dallas native Annie Clark (a.k.a. St. Vincent) got onstage with Carrie Brownstein (formerly of Sleater-Kinney) to cover Neil Young's "Rockin' In the Free World." Clark sang and played tambourine, and Brownstein played guitar. There are a couple videos out there, but we're a fan of the one shot by Dave Meek. He was farther away than the person who shot the one you already saw, if you follow such things, but his camera's better and the clip is a little longer.
Here's the version that's been making the rounds this weekend:

And in case you're wondering how much of a Pearl Jam fan Annie Clark really is, the answer is: Enough to cover "Black" on the Portlandia tour last year.
