On Thursday, September 24, Dallas' own The Polyphonic Spree will perform a free concert at the Palladium Ballroom, as part of Southern Comfort's national underCOVER concert series.

Oddly enough, the opening act on the bill will be Public Enemy's DJ Lord, who, says the presser, will be "mashing up old school beats with new school hits" to get the crowd ready, I guess?

Also promised, however, is that the Spree will "give an up close and personal look into their musical influences, paying tribute to the artists and covering the very songs that helped forge the sounds you hear today." Which, among other things, if I may assume for a moment, means that there's like a 90 percent chance of Tripping Daisy songs being played.

Wonder if we'll hear any of those new Delaughter demos flushed out, too? Dunno...

Anyway, after the jump, straight from the press release, are the details on how to get into this show. So hop to it.

Date: Thursday, Sept. 24

Where: The Palladium Ballroom, 1135 South Lamar, Dallas, TX

Time: Doors open at 7 p.m. with DJ Lord's opening set beginning at 8 p.m.

Location: please visit www.southerncomfort.com/undercover and www.facebook.com/southerncomfort

Cost: Free, fans must text "DALLAS" to 68405 to receive the show's ticket code.  Attendees must be 21 and over.
