Over on Unfair Park I just posted the note that Jamie Foxx's Brinker International Forum appearance at the Winspear, which was scheduled for tomorrow night, is now a no-go. The reason: Something to do with his inability to get away from the set of Django Unchained, the new Quentin Tarantino movie in which he plays the title character. Soon as I hit "post," the official announcement arrived from the AT&T Performing Arts Center, which reads, in full:
The AT&T Performing Arts Center regretfully announces today, the cancellation of an "Evening with Jamie Foxx" due to an unexpected scheduling conflict with a movie he is currently filming with famed director Quentin Tarantino.
Mark Weinstein, President and CEO of the AT&T Performing Arts Center said, "The Brinker International Forum is a series dedicated to bringing cultural influencers to Dallas and engaging and inspiring conversation on the beautiful Winspear Opera House stage. While we are disappointed that Mr. Foxx is unable to come to this event, we are confident that we will find a replacement for a future date that will be equally as inspirational."
Tickets are being refunded through the AT&T Performing Arts Center and an additional date for another engagement in this series will be announced shortly. Ticketing information available at www.attpac.org or by calling 214.880.0202.
