Rolling off of last year's success, the Uptown Players announced that, following popular demand, a previously unplanned Dallas Pride Performance Arts Festival has just been scheduled for September 9-15, coinciding with the 29th Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade on September 16. (Applications for which can be found here, with an August 3 deadline.)

Academy Award winner (Best Original Screenplay for Milk) Dustin Lance Black will headline with a staged reading of his play 8, centered around the 2008 Proposition 8 ruling in California and directed by Dallas Observer People honoree René Moreno.

Theater Jones reports with a full schedule including revivals of "Lanford Wilson's The Madness of Lady Bright, seen at the 2011 Festival of Independent Theatres; and queer performance artist John Michael Colgin's one-man show A-Gays: Stillwater, Oklahoma, which was presented by Nouveau 47 Theatre."
