Fair Park will reinvent itself during our hottest months for a new round of thrills with its just-announced Summer Adventures series. It looks to be geared more towards the little ones than rowdy young adults, but all who show up will get a first look at the newest Fair attraction, the Top o' Texas Tower, a 100 person capacity ride destined to stretch twice as high as the Texas Star ferris wheel.

A complete list of rides is still being negotiated, although the State Fair of Texas is predicting roughly 30 in total, and they'll be a combination of much-loved mainstays as well as new additions brought in specifically for the summertime run. So far surf rider, log ride, carousel, Love Bug, pirate ship, bumper cars, the new Tower (naturally) and the Texas Sky Way are being promised. And since you're wondering: yes, there will be fried food, but "new fun food" will also be offered.

Scheduled to run from May 4th through mid-August, the massive concrete city-within-a-city will convert into a "tropical oasis," filled with heat-targested attractions like splash-worthy water rides, play pools, fountains, misters and other additions to lower your body temp during the melty months.

Unlike the State Fair of Texas proper, Summer Adventures in Fair Park will charge a flat-fee admission that includes the cost of rides and museum entry throughout the space's 18 participating acres.

Here's the entire press release:
