Caught some Jason Garrett on NFL Network this morning (a replay from earlier in the week). The Cowboys' coach was talking about the lockout in the past tense. As if there were no question the NFL would start the season on time.
If so, it'll be an emotional start September 11 for the Cowboys, the Jets and Garrett. He was a backup quarterback for the Giants when the Twin Towers crumbled under terrorist attack 10 years ago.
"There will be a mix of emotions," Garret said. "We'll be excited to get started, but we'll certainly understand the circumstances for all of the people in New York City."
There will certainly be a ton of hype surrounding that game with 9/11, Rob Ryan vs. Rex Ryan, Garrett's non-interim debut and -- duh -- the Cowboys in prime time against a team fresh off two AFC Championship Game losses.
But is it the season's most intriguing game?
Actually, yes. Although it would be fun to spend Christmas Eve with Jerry Jones and the Eagles in Arlington or to ring in 2012 against the Giants in New York, I think if I had one ticket to one game all season I'd be in Meadowlands Stadium for the opener.
You?
