Tonight, Austin's lounge-loving Small Stars open for super-quiet French folksters Mi and L'au, and that recommendation wins out solely based on how lame tonight's concert calendar is (no, I'm not going to say a damn nice thing about Electric Six or Reggie and the Full Effect).

Tomorrow, however, is a much bigger beast, as Centro-matic's 10-year anniversary concert will fill Dan's Silverleaf to capacity with longtime fans. As former Dallas Observer Night & Day editor Shannon Sutlief reported in Quick this week, the two-set performance will feature a whole bunch of songs that the group doesn't play in concert much these days, which makes this a must-see for people who can't get enough of "Misunderstanding Surplus in the Getaway Car." If you're staying in Dallas on Saturday, then shame on you; even so, the AllGood Cafe is hosting Salim Nourallah and I Love Math, and American Werewolf Academy will have a CD release show of sorts (the album's been done for a while, but what the heck) at the Cavern with [DARYL] and Black Tie Dynasty. -Sam Machkovech
