Yesterday, the U.S. Census Bureau released a report titled Income, Earnings, and Poverty Data From the 2007 American Community Survey, in which it lists the cities with the highest median income and the lowest poverty rate. And, as you've no doubt guessed from the headline, Plano comes out on top -- or, as USA Today puts it this morning, among cities with populations of 250,000 or more, Plano is the country's "most affluent city." Which surprised and delighted Plano Mayor Pat Evans when the paper reached her for comment: "I'd never heard that before. But it's good to know." And among cities with populations between 65,000 and 249,999, Flower Mound ranks fifth. --Robert Wilonsky
