I'm in desperate need of a new car -- unless it's supposed to smoke after 13 years, in which case, never mind. That said, the city of Dallas is slashing and burning its inventory of dozens of used fire engines and ambulances over on my favorite auction site. The kid thinks the pumper truck at top would be an "awesome" ride to school -- and at $1,250 so far, it may be too good to pass up. But those ambulances will likewise come in handy, as I plan to spend the fall remaking Mother, Jugs & Speed.
