This morning Sports Illustrated launched a site allowing folks to vote on the Most Decisive Super Bowl Moments, which coincides with a list that appears in the issue hitting stands today. One moment -- a "game-changing play, player's leadership or coach's decision" -- from each Super Bowl is pulled out and picked apart. But SI's editors have already gone ahead and whittled down the list to the Top Eight Moments, each of which has been put into a bracket for easy votin' (and the only Dallas Cowboys-related moment among the great eight involves Lynn Swann's fourth-quarter catch during Super Bowl X that put the Steelers up 21-10, ugh).
Anyway. The winner will be announced February 4, at which point, says an SI press release, special Sports Illustrated Presents issues will be distributed around town -- something about a Super Bowl being played nearby? Let's jump to the end of the announcement:
The SIP will be distributed in Dallas during Super Bowl Week. It will be available in various locations including uptown Dallas, the West End, Victory Park, Deep Ellum, the Arts District, the Convention Center and the Museum in Fair Park. ...The SIP will be distributed by Tom Landry look a likes as part of an agreement with the Tom Landry Foundation. Coach Landry was among the most decisive coaches in the history of the game and his play calling in Super Bowl VI and XII brought the Dallas Cowboys their first two Super Bowl titles and provided moments that live in infamy.
