Before we get back to the state's report on Hurricane Katrina evacuees still living in Texas, this just came across from Texas Insider: Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, who is on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson announced today that Texas will received $428.6 million in federal community development block grant money. Those grants will go toward paying back cities and counties who suffered Hurricane Rita damage last year or took in some of the 251,000 estimated Hurricane Katrina evacuees who came to Texas and stayed here, according to the Health and Human Commission's report. Back to it in a moment. --Robert Wilonsky
