Dubai International Capital yesterday offered Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr. about $800 million for their Liverpool football club -- an offer to which the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars owner and his business partner said, "Thanks, but pass." Only, the story doesn't end there: According to the Associated Press, Hicks is looking to buy out Gillett -- for how much money and for how much of his stake in the club, it's still unclear.

Reports the AP: "It was unclear if Hicks is planning to buy all or only part of Gillett's 50 percent stake. Hicks and Gillett have the power to block the other from selling." Which means ... well, dunno just yet. Only, don't expect Liverpool fans to be terribly delighted about it. --Robert Wilonsky
