Last week, we made note of The Chronicle of Higher Education posting some 20 entries it received for its Design the Bush Library contest. Turns out, one of the entries comes from a Dallas resident -- so, please, go here and give the item titled "Hole in the Ground" plenty of votes, so Lewis E. Calver can win hisself an iPod touch. Calver isn't an architect, incidentally -- nope, he's actually chair of the Biomedical Communications Graduate Program at UT-Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. And, he tells Unfair Park today with a bit of a chuckle, "I actually kind of took a chance, because if Dr. [Kern] Wildenthal catches hold of it, he'll probably give me hell."

Calver tells Unfair Park two things inspired the drawing: some half-remembered Will Rogers quote and the ghosts of Molly Ivins and Ann Richards. "I thought they would have gotten a kick out of that," Calver says, "so I said, 'What the hell, I'll do something.'" And you can vote for that something right now. --Robert Wilonsky
