Lynn Flint Shaw today resigned as the Dallas Area Rapid Transit board chair, claiming the Dallas County District Attorney's investigations into allegations she lifted Craig Watkins' signature and created phone District Attorney's office letterhead had become "a distraction." She also mentions the "public scrutiny" given her "personal financial situation and past campaign for Dallas City Council," but refuses to "discuss these personal matters publicly again."

Wouldn't ya know it, Schutze is out of the office; never fear, he'll be back shortly. Till then, here is the missive she sent to Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway -- and, please, no lifting her signature, even allegedly. --Robert Wilonsky
