Maybe we oughta turn Virtual Coffee -- that's right, isn't it? -- over to Dallas Independent School Board trustee Carla Ranger; this makes three posts in three days, fancy. But you knew this one was coming following last night's board of trustees vote to barely approve the new ethics policy, which smells like the same ol' same ol', since it doesn't keep trustees (school board president Jack Lowe, say) and their companies (like, well, TD Industries, for example) from doing business with the district.
"Five Trustees voted to put the private gain of Trustees ahead of their responsibility to protect the public interest and uphold public trust," Ranger writes this morning. "Another clear example of a how a wrongheaded board operates." --Robert Wilonsky
