Dallas ISD Superintendent Mike Miles must face a performance review by school board members before the May 9 board elections, Dallas County District Judge Carl Ginsburg ruled Tuesday.
In a case filed by three school trustees against board President Miguel Solis, Ginsburg said Solis' decision to push the meeting about Miles' performance to May 14 violated district rules because it would not occur within 60 days after trustees Elizabeth Jones, Joyce Foreman and Bernadette Nutall requested it.

Ginsburg said the trustees' interest in open government -- they've said they want voters to have the most information possible before election day -- trumps any interest Solis has in delaying the meeting.
The meeting will now be scheduled for the day and time requested by the trustees, 4 p.m. May 1. The board will "consider and take possible action regarding the employment" of Miles.
