On Rotation's Hops of the Earth IPA Pairs Perfectly with Cane Rosso's Screaming Kids

If you’ve ever been to the Cane Rosso in Lakewood, you’ve probably seen a few parents losing their mind as children run free, and turn the front area/patio into a playground. Or just ignoring them entirely. For those of us that do not have children, the scene can be overwhelming. Of course, one solace for those looking to hide from kids while waiting for their table is On Rotation, the minimalist taproom next door who, in addition to a number of freshly tapped craft beers, is putting out their own brews. Released last week, On Rotation's Hops of the Earth IPA was tapped for all to enjoy.

Arriving with a lighter amber coloring, On Rotation’s newest concoction is good. Really freakin' good. One of impressive things about Hops of the Earth was the lightness of the beer; most IPAs can be filling, but the medium body of this beer leans toward the lighter side. The taste is citrusy without a bite, and the mouthfeel is smooth. Lacking in bitterness, this is an IPA made for IPA fans and non-fans alike. The most impressive aspect of this beer was the not just the lack of bitterness, but that the citrus flavor is what came through in the aftertaste, which will encourage you to keep ordering it.

This is a dangerous, yet delicious, beer that we all need to beg On Rotation to keep brewing. If nothing else, for the sake of those hiding from children, whether they're your own or someone else's.
