Heed the call of the great outdoors at the Trinity River Audubon’s Birds & Brew event. Guests will have after-hours access to trails and decks overlooking the butterfly gardens, Trinity Forest and wetlands. The decks are where libations from Martin House, Deep Ellum Brewing Co. and Franconia will be served. There will also be birds of prey from Window to the Wild on hand to ensure things don’t get too rowdy. Tickets are $10. Must be 21 years or older to attend.

The Thai Culture and Food Festival brings all manner of delicious Thai food to the Buddhist Center of Dallas. All the more traveled dishes will be there — pad Thai, chicken satay and the like — along with some less common items (less common in the States, anyway.) Vegan offerings will also be available at most booths. More than a dozen local restaurants and vendors are slated to attend. Admission is free, with most food items costing between $1 and $7.

Try not to throw up at the National Beer Mile, where physical exertion and alcohol come together to create one mile of memories. Participants will throw back a beer every quarter mile of the track before running/jogging/walking/crawling their way to the next beer-stop. The day's festivities conclude with an after party with food, music and of course, more beer. Costumes are encouraged.

See whose rims are the saltiest at this year's Dallas Margarita Meltdown. Local bars and restaurants will compete to earn the illustrious title of "Best margarita."
