Apparently the people who have reaped the benefits of Joanna and Chip Gaines' home-makeover genius on Fixer Upper have begun to reap more benefits by putting the renovated homes up for rent on Vacation Rentals By Owner and Airbnb.
Yes, enough people are traveling to Waco for there to be a business in putting your home up for rent. It would seem most of Waco's tourists are traveling to the city to visit the Magnolia Market, the Gaines' home decor store featured on the show. Waco is officially a vacation destination and 2016 is officially a joke from hell.
According to wacotrib.com, at least six homes from Fixer Upper are listed on VRBO and Airbnb, including the Gorman House, the Mailander House, the Shotgun House, the Chicken House and the Mid-Mod House. Most of the Fixer Upper homes are listed for about $300 per night for rental.
But then there's the Barndominium. The home from the hugely popular show is up for rent on VRBO and depending on the time of year, rental rates could be as high as $1,200 per night. In Waco, Texas. One thousand and two hundred dollars per night. Waco. One, two, zero, zero.
What you get with that $1,200 (!!!!) per night:
