As the crisp autumn breeze gently sweeps through the streets of Dallas, the city’s culinary scene is gearing up to serve a Thanksgiving feast like never before. If you plan to host this year, liberate yourself from the tyranny of hours preparing, cooking and cleaning. Instead, let seasoned professionals provide an extraordinary holiday meal for you and your loved ones.

All you need do is pick up, heat and serve, then sit back and relax with friends and family. We’ve rounded up to-go options from some of Dallas’s finest restaurants, where you can get appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts. Considering last year’s shortage of turkeys and how busy the holiday season is, it's never too soon to think about making sure you have your plans ready for Thanksgiving.

Al Biernat’s

Beloved Dallas restaurant Al Biernat’s is taking Thanksgiving takeout pre-orders until 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, with pickup at a specified time on Wednesday, Nov. 22. All courses are made to suit various tastes. If you prefer non-traditional proteins, Al Biernat’s Butcher offers an impressive list of local meats and seafood, including prime rib, chateaubriand, North Dakota buffalo and Atlantic salmon and lobster tails. All items from the butcher shop come uncooked with the chef’s special marinade and instructions for preparation. A link to the Thanksgiving to-go menu and order form can be found online. Bad Chicken

Need something for friends and family to snack on before the big meal or desserts to satisfy their sweet tooth afterward? Bad Chicken is offering 30-, 50- and 100-piece bone-in wings as well as their addictive nuggets in a variety of platter sizes. You can also order fresh salads, sides and homemade desserts including creme brulee, chocolate mousse, mega gooey rice krispie treats and peanut butter chocolate pie. Central Market

Dallas, Plano, Southlake and Fort Worth
All Central Market stores are offering holiday meals for pickup, and if you order by Wednesday, November 8, you’ll get a $15 coupon to use for your next in-store purchase over $75. Central Market chefs have curated an assortment of complete meals, plus the store’s best-selling mains, sides and desserts. Holiday meals are available to reserve for pickup from Monday, Nov. 20, to Thursday, Nov. 23. Visit the website, select holiday meals and your preferred location, and order away. Orders are being accepted until 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, and there is a $50 minimum.

Crossbuck BBQ

4400 Spring Valley Road, Farmers Branch
Crossbuck BBQ is serving up the most tender, perfectly smoked turkey in Dallas with a delectable jalapeno sausage gravy. In addition to turkey, there's ham, prime rib and brisket along with classic Thanksgiving sides including homestyle scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, roasted and smoked potatoes and Vermont cheddar mac-n-cheese, along with Crossbuck’s fluffy house rolls sold by the baker’s dozen. Thanksgiving pre-order menu and online ordering are available at Crossbuck BBQ Local Thanksgiving Meals. You can also order in person at the Crossbuck BBQ’s Farmers Branch location at 4400 Spring Valley Road or over the phone at 214-765-4019. Orders must be submitted the Sunday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 19. All food will be ready for pickup at your convenience Nov. 20– 22 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Dive Coastal Cuisine

Dive Coastal Cuisine is offering a Thanksgiving pickup menu with items such as mini potato latkes, bruschetta ciabatta crostini, charcuterie boards, herbed and brined chicken, shrimp cocktail skewers, roasted salmon dip, seasoned and seared beef tenderloin, stuffed sweet potatoes, rustic apple sausage and rosemary ciabatta stuffing, whole key lime pie, and pumpkin spice pie. The regular menu is also available to-go. Order for pickup 24 hours in advance.

Fearing's Restaurant

Let Mr. Southwest Cuisine take care of Thanksgiving for you. Thanksgiving to-go at Fearing's is $500 for 10 people and includes a whole turkey with whipped butter and gravy, five savory sides (including a sweet potato souffle with candied pecans and marshmallows), with Parker house rolls and spiked pumpkin pie and bourbon chocolate chunk pie. Head to the Grain located at Hilton Dallas Park Cities to grab your Thanksgiving meal to-go. The restaurant, inspired by Texas hospitality and the American spirit, will have a Thanksgiving meal for six people that includes Cajun fried turkey breast with confit leg and thigh, turkey gravy and hot-honey glazed ham. Homemade sides include jalapeno cornbread stuffing, garlic-whipped mashed potato, heirloom vegetable medley, cranberry relish and sweet yeast rolls with cinnamon butter. Mixed greens salad comes with cucumber, red onion, carrots, cherry tomatoes with ranch or citrus vinaigrette. House-made desserts include bourbon bread pudding and pumpkin pie. Lane’s Oak’d BBQ

Lane’s OAK’D BBQ wants to make your Thanksgiving holiday easy and enjoyable, so the meat-obsessed operation is preparing everything you need to serve your friends and family this holiday season. That includes entrees, from smoked turkeys and briskets to homemade sides, tamales and desserts. See the online menu for all the options. Items will be packaged to lock in the freshness and to keep transport safe and easy. Reheating instructions will be provided. Holiday orders must be placed online or by phone no later than 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, and will be available for pickup at the location where the order was placed on Wednesday, Nov. 22, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

La Casita Bakeshop

580 W. Arapaho Road, Richardson
La Casita Bakeshop has a full Thanksgiving menu of holiday pies (including quiche), pastries, entire meals and bread. It's your one-stop shop. The full dinner starts at $180 and includes turkey, dinner rolls, sweet potato casserole, green beans, mashed potatoes, sourdough stuffing, gravy and either pumpkin or pecan pie. You can order dinner for 5 to 6 or 10 to 12 people. Pick-up for Thanksgiving is on Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Use the website to order.

Lockhart Smokehouse

Lockhart Smokehouse is smokin’ this season with family-style portions to celebrate the holidays at home. Get fully smoked hams, turkeys, briskets and prime rib served alongside green bean casserole, smoked cream corn, cheesy potato casserole, macaroni and cheese, and bread pudding and peach cobbler for dessert ($38 to $265). Meals will be packaged cold and vacuum-sealed, with instructions for reheating. Side dishes come in aluminum half pans. Hams, prime rib, whole turkeys, savory sides and decadent desserts feed 8 to 10. Whole briskets serve 18 to 20. Loop 9 BBQ

Loop 9 BBQ is the latest work from Chili's founder Larry Lavine. Here you can get a Thanksgiving package for $95 that includes a whole smoked turkey with gravy along with a TX Whiskey Chocolate Butterscotch Pecan Pie made by Sweet Lucy's Pie. Sides are a la carte and include Mexican corn, beans, cole slaw, potato salads and a few other barbecue-type dishes. They also have prime brisket and Meyer's Elgin sausage by the half-pound. Loro

The Asian smokehouse Loro has a to-go package that offers traditional dishes with some not-so-traditional flavors. Get a post-oak-smoked turkey breast with apricot chutney; turkey and sage gravy with miso; or kale and apple salad with hazelnut, cabbage, dashi and mint. The confit marble potatoes come with smoked beef fat, whole-grain mustard and tarragon. The stuffing is made with lemongrass and toasted brioche. Priced at $190, it's enough to serve four to six people. Order online until Nov. 17 and pick up on Nov. 21 or 22.

Norma’s Cafe

Thanksgiving presale meals are now available at Norma’s Cafe with prices starting at $119.99. Each meal serves 6 to 8 people and includes your choice of the following: one pan-smoked sliced or oven-roasted turkey breast, one whole smoked turkey, a spiral-cut glazed ham, or a prime oven roast (*$179.99) with two quarts of cornbread dressing, one quart of giblet gravy, two quarts mashed potatoes, two quarts green beans. Cranberry sauce, one dozen rolls and a 10-inch pumpkin pie is also included. Each holiday order sold supports the North Texas Food Bank. Orders can be placed online.

One90 Smoked Meats

One90 Smoked Meats' special holiday menu is filled with everything you need to make this Thanksgiving extra special. Pick up your bird, pork or beef already smoked, carved and packaged, so you get to enjoy the day. A large turkey (22–24 lbs.) is $120, and a small turkey (12–14 lbs.) is $74.99. A spiral-sliced smoked ham is $70. A half brisket is $95 and a whole is $180. One90 is also offering smoked salmon, beef tenderloin and prime rib. Holiday side options include potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, mac and cheese and green beans. All sides are served in half- or full-pan options. Everything is cryo-packaged to lock in the freshness and keep transport easy and safe. Orders can be placed on the website or by calling the store.

Pecan Lodge Catering Commissary

Pecan Lodge is now taking orders online for smoked meats, savory sides and decadent desserts for the holiday table. Choose from traditional smoked turkey or spiral sliced ham with apricot-molasses glaze, spice-crusted beef tenderloin, whole smoked brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, racks of ribs, handmade smoked sausage links and tamales ($20–$275). Southern cornbread stuffing, green bean casserole, whipped sweet potatoes, Mamie’s baked beans, braised collard greens, mac n'cheese, Aunt Polly’s banana pudding and peach cobbler are available as well as all of Pecan Lodge’s sides, desserts and sauces. Quarter Acre is offering a take-home package for Thanksgiving with two options for the main course including smoked turkey breast with confit turkey leg ($295) or slow-cooked leg of New Zealand lamb ($325). The package serves four people and includes two sauces — turkey gravy for the turkey or mint chimichurri with the lamb and cranberry sauce. Side options are charred carrots with maple gastrique and yogurt, glazed shallots, and pomme dauphinoise; and sourdough, New Zealand butter and Tajin popcorn. Add-on options are available as well. Renny's Bar & Grill

Renny's is the reincarnation of Maguire's Restaurant, which closed in 2022. So, if you've long loved Maguire's, or like the new spot, they're offering a special holiday to-go menu. (If you're dining in or picking up, make reservations online.) Start with a 12–15 pound turkey (really the ideal size), along with a quart of gravy and cranberry sauce along with two sides for $149. That's a solid deal. Add on green chili lasagna or house-smoked salmon. Several whole pies are on offer as well. Order by Friday, Nov. 17, and pick up on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Roots Southern Table

13050 Bee St., Farmers Branch
Roots' offer here might be the best in the city. It's sides only, meaning 1) sides are the best part anyway, who cares about the turkey? Or 2) you can just cook a turkey and let them take care of everything else. Get ready-to-bake cornbread, braised greens with smoked ham, sweet potato souffle with brown butter pecan crumble, cranberry orange relish and banana pudding. This Thanksgiving Fixins package is $175 and is enough for four to six people. Or just you and a few days of leftovers. Order online for pick-up on Nov. 22 between 2 and 5 p.m.

Smokey Joe's BBQ

6403 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway
Smokey Joe's, one of our favorite local barbecue restaurants, is taking preorders. Send them your order and they'll send you a quote. Mains include turkey, ham, brisket and ribs along with mac-n-cheese, beans and potato salad. For dessert, you can get peach cobbler, buttermilk pie, sweet potato pie or banana pudding.

Smokey John's BBQ and Home Cooking

1820 W. Mockingbird Lane
Smokey John's is another local favorite and the deal to get here is the stuffed turkey leg, which comes two for $39.95 or four for $69.95. A large smoked turkey breast is filled with stuffing and it's amazing. They also have a small family pack enough for up to six people ($149.95) and a large one for $189.95, enough for up to 12. Strouderosa BBQ

Named the Dallas Oberver’s 2023 Best Barbecue Restaurant by Reader’s Choice, Strouderosa BBQ will have 12- to 14-pound smoked turkeys ($75) or sliced smoked turkey ($20 per pound) for pick up. Side options will serve 4 to 10 and include herb-roasted stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans with bacon casserole, jalapeño cream corn and their famous mac ‘n’ cheese. Heating instructions will be provided and you can order online via their website with pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Ten50 BBQ

1050 N. Central Expressway, Richardson
Feast without the stress with Ten50 BBQ. The popular Richardson barbecue spot is offering a Holiday Pitmaster Package and an a la carte Thanksgiving menu that includes family-style smoked meats, sides by the gallon and house-made desserts to help make your holiday stress-free. The Holiday Pitmaster Package is $30 per person with a 15-person minimum and includes glazed ham, smoked turkey breast, snapped green beans, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, rolls and fruit cobbler. The a la carte menu has smoked meats (whole brisket, turkey breast, spiral sliced glazed ham, beef tenderloin and whole turkey); sides (brisket baked beans, five cheese mac, snap’d green beans, coleslaw, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and traditional cornbread stuffing); and house-made desserts (chocolate pie, key lime pie, fruit cobbler and banana pudding). TJ’s Seafood Market has a Thanksgiving to-go menu including holiday platters, shrimp, smoked salmon, oysters, gumbo and more at the Preston Royal location. Traditional sides on offer are Key lime pie cheesecake, baked brie and spinach-artichoke stuffed mushrooms. Or just get a big party platter. Relieve the Thanksgiving stress and order catering from Urban Crust. The Supremo Package is available for $249 and serves 6 to 8 people.
