If you've ever been to the desolate wonderland of Marfa, Texas, then you're no doubt familiar with the work of Donald Judd, the late minimalist sculptor who made the tiny West Texas town a world-renowned destination for art aficionados. Colorado sculptor Pard Morrison shares some of Judd's aesthetic, arranging aluminum sheets into cubes and boxes which he then bakes colored layers into, resulting in pieces with a shiny, almost ceramic sheen. Several such pieces make up the exhibition Pard Morrison: Ghost Call Love, on display through Saturday at Marty Walker Gallery, 2135 Farrington St. New paintings by Dallas artist Douglas Leon Cartmel are also on display. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and by appointment. Call 214-749-0066 or visit martywalkergallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Dec. 12. Continues through Dec. 20, 2008
