Purse Snatcher

When I was in the second grade, I narced on a girl I caught stealing candy from the teacher's desk. But lo and behold, she had a pretty good thing going, so I started taking those yummy, sugary snacks from the teacher too! I was teacher's pet, and Mrs. Frost was my favorite teacher, so you can imagine my remorse (to this day I might add)...even though I never got caught. Children's character Lilly seems to be much in the same situation--she loves school and her teacher, but when he confiscates her purple plastic purse during class one day Lilly decides he must pay. What's the meanest, nastiest thing you can do to a teacher--besides stealing their candy? Draw a mean picture, of course. But then the teacher has to go and leave Lilly a nice note in her purse, and Lilly's guilt is just too much for her to handle. Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, a tale for the whole family, shows at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts (5938 Skillman St.) Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through October 26. Times and admission prices vary. Call 214-740-0051 or visit dct.org for more info.
