All humans cry tears, but how many can effectively cry pixels? Very few individuals are able to take a universal display of emotion and digitize it without losing something in the process. Artist John Pomara is one of those few. In 96-tears, he effectively and eloquently allows "qualities of static pixel forms" to represent the emotions he felt over the loss of his friend and colleague Scott Barber. Pomara's 96-tears will be shown from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays (and by appointment) at the Barry Whistler Gallery, 2909-B Canton St. Admission is free. Call 214-939-0242 or visit barrywhistlergallery.com.
