The other day former Stars great Brett Hull was on the Ticket trashing the NHL execs for all their pea-brained ideas to make the sport more popular, namely a rumor that they want to change the cut of hockey uniforms so they are more like an Under Armour garment. Then Hull shifted gears to talk about how excited he was about an upcoming game at the ACC versus the Rangers, one of the original NHL teams. His point? Maybe that when it comes down to it, little gimmicks such as the cut of uniforms or the color of the puck aren't going to drum up interest in the sport: great hockey and marketable stars will. And fortunately for us, Dallas has both. Come out to see the Dallas Stars play the Edmonton Oilers 7 p.m. Saturday at the American Airlines Center, 2500 Victory Ave. Call 214-GO-STARS or visit dallasstars.com.
