Singer-songwriter AJ Croce is damn good. And why shouldn't he be? This guy has enough inspiration to propel him through decades of song. The son of the affable songster Jim Croce ("Time in a Bottle" and "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown") endured his father's death and his own sudden blindness as a child, regained sight in one eye, learned the piano, began writing songs and has now performed with legends such as Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, B.B. King, Ray Charles, Morphine and others. So yeah, the young Croce might have quite a bit to scratch down in a journal...or translate into melodies. Saturday, Croce visits Bend Studio, 5014 McKinney Ave., with opening act Steve Poltz. Doors open at 8 p.m.; show begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 to $30.
