My recent move to a renovated East Dallas flat might allow me to fall under the umbrella of "urban living"...I think. It may not be a chic Uptown highrise or a trendy downtown loft, but it's my quaint spot in the bustling city. However, if urban living means learning the best way to decorate with IKEA or buying the right amount of groceries without several back and forth trips to the car and up the stairs, then I have yet to master it. With perfect timing for my dilemma, the Nasher Sculpture Center hosts The Art of Urban Living (a discussion led by staff members of The Dallas Morning News) as part of its NasherSalon series. Admission is free. The salon also features live music and begins 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Call 214-242-5100 or visit

Third Thursday of every month, 5-10 p.m. Starts: June 15. Continues through Aug. 17
